OnePlus has hinted at the upcoming release of a new smartphone in India that might be part of the recently launched OnePlus 15 lineup. Called the OnePlus 15R, it is anticipated to be the newest member of the OnePlus 15 series, possibly inspired by either the OnePlus Ace 6 available only in China or the soon-to-be-released OnePlus Ace 6T. The rumored device is presented in two color options, featuring a dual rear camera system placed within a square design. The OnePlus India website has added a new microsite for the launch of the OnePlus 15R. It shares the same slogan as the OnePlus 15, “Power On. Limits Off.” Although the launch date for this new device is not yet revealed, it is marked as “Coming Soon.” The teaser image shows the OnePlus 15R in black and green colors. It seems to have a dual camera setup on the back, with cameras arranged vertically within a square design. This resembles the main model, the OnePlus 15.
On the other hand, the OnePlus 13R came with a triple camera setup, indicating that the upcoming version might have fewer cameras. The power and volume controls seem to be located on the right side of the phone, while there could be a Plus Key on the left side. This new key, found on the OnePlus 13s and OnePlus 15, can be personalized for as many as eight different tasks. Initially, it was thought that the OnePlus 15R would simply be a renamed version of the OnePlus Ace 6, which was released alongside the flagship model in China last month. However, new information suggests it could actually be based on the upcoming OnePlus Ace 6T instead. The phone is rumored to have a 6.7-inch OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of 165Hz. It is expected to use the yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and as much as 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
Regarding the camera features, the OnePlus 15R might come with a dual rear camera system that consists of a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. There are rumors that it will include an 8,000mAh battery that supports 100W wired fast charging.
