Royal Enfield introduced its first electric bike called the Flying Flea C6 in India, starting at a price of Rs 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom). If you opt for battery-as-a-Service (BaaS), the electric bike will cost Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This release marks a major step forward for the company as it enters the electric vehicle market. Additionally, this launch sets the stage for future electric motorcycles that the brand has already announced. The Flying Flea C6 comes with a 15.4 kW (20 hp) PMSM electric motor and is powered by a 3.91 kWh battery pack. According to the given specifications, the bike can go from 0 to 60 kmph in only 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 115 kmph. It has an expected IDC range of 154 km, and the built-in charger can charge the battery from 20 percent to 80 percent in about 65 minutes.
Royal Enfield has packed this bike with a wide range of features designed for city riders. This includes full LED lights, navigation that uses Google, wireless charging for phones, cornering ABS, traction control, and different riding modes like Sport and Individual. The Individual mode lets the rider adjust the traction control, ABS settings, and throttle response. In terms of design, the Flying Flea C6 has a one-of-a-kind and compact look. Based on the original Flying Flea, this electric bike features an exposed frame, girder-style front suspension, a floating seat, and a removable pillion seat. These elements give it a unique feel compared to Royal Enfield’s traditional gasoline bikes. The battery will be protected by an aluminum casing aimed at improving the bike's aerodynamics and cooling performance. This design also contributes to the motorcycle's distinct look. With all these features, the bike weighs only 124 kg, making it the lightest model ever created by Royal Enfield.
