On a windy Friday night, a just-married pair from Rajasthan, Ashish and Anju, stepped out for a stroll when suddenly a vehicle struck them. Ashish passed away instantly, while Anju was knocked unconscious and had her gold jewellery stolen, according to reports. What seemed like an ordinary hit-and-run quickly shifted when investigators recalled a similar incident from Meghalaya, where Sonam Raghuvanshi arranged for her husband, Raja Raghivanshi, to be killed during their honeymoon and tried to disguise it as an accident. The police investigation, as mentioned by the source, uncovered that Anju conspired to have her husband killed with her boyfriend, Sanju's help. The pair then attempted to make it look like an accident. Amrita Duhan, the Superintendent of Police in Sri Ganganagar, stated that authorities were alerted about the incident on January 30, around 9 PM.

The police were informed that an unconscious couple was found on the road. They were later taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC), where doctors declared Ashish dead. “We learned that a man had been struck by an unknown vehicle, resulting in his death. We examined the accident scene and called the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team to conduct a technical investigation," Duhan explained, as reported. Anju, 23, informed the police that she and her husband were out for an evening stroll when an unknown vehicle hit them. She also stated that her gold jewellery was taken during the incident. The report pointed out that discrepancies between what actually happened and Anju’s account fueled suspicion, noting that Ashish's body had signs of injuries and appeared to have been strangled.

On the other hand, Anju appeared unhurt, which raised more doubts. When her phone was checked, it was found that she was in constant communication with a man named Sanju, who lived near her home. Anju and Ashish had only been married for three months. However, she was reportedly unhappy in her marriage and returned to her hometown shortly afterward. There, she reconnected with her ex-boyfriend, Sanju. They are said to have plotted Ashish's murder while Anju was back home, as per the report. Following their plan, Anju invited Ashish for a walk and led him to a secluded road. The three attackers—Sanju and his associates, Rocky, Badal, and Siddharth—were reportedly hiding in the bushes.

As per the police reports, Ashish was violently assaulted, choked, and the assailants attempted to disguise it as an accident. At the same time, Anju gave her phone and earrings to the attackers to create the impression that a robbery had occurred. Following this, she acted like she was unconscious on the road, but it was the mark of injury on Ashish’s neck that revealed the truth. All four suspects have been taken into custody by the police, and an additional inquiry into the case is ongoing.
