Reasons For the Israel-Gaza Conflict

In the Arab-Israeli war, five Arab nations invaded territories of the former Palestinian mandate and announced the independence of the state of Israel on May 14, 1948.

In 1973, there was a deadliest war called, Yom Kippur War also known as Ramadan War, which went on from Oct 6th to 25th, where around 2656 military were dead and 9000 civilians were wounded. Israel was declared victorious.

In 2008, there was an attack on Hamas killing 200 Palestinians as a response to the rocket fire from Gaza.

In 2021 on May 8th there was violence broke out after the Supreme Court of Israel evicted six Palestinian families under international law. Nearly 600 were injured and in which mostly were Palestinians. On May 10, 2021, Hamas gave an ultimatum to Israel to withdraw its security forces from both the Temple Mount complex and Sheik Jarrah. There was a rocket launch and even a school was attacked at that time. World was shocked in 2021 and by 17 May, the United Nations estimated that Israeli airstrikes had destroyed much of Gaza.

Currently, the commander of Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Mohammed Deif on the first day of the attack cleared through a recorded message that the attack was the response to the ‘desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque’. Al-Aqsa Mosque is located in the old city of Jerusalem, where Jesus Christ was brought occasionally as a child, crucified at the end of his life and resurrected by God. The Palestinian armed group Hamas launched “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood” against Israel.
