Heavy deluge in Uttar Pradesh has left152 dead and over five lakh people without a roof, as torrential rains continue to cripple life and send the rivers in a spate. Nearly ten rivers flowing across the state,  Betwa, Ganga, Ghaghra, Gomti, Kain, Ramganga, Sai, Saryu, Sharda, and Yamuna are flowing above the danger level and have caused extensive devastation to land and life.

However, the government is yet to rush to the aid of the stranded villagers.

The Gomti has washed away several villages in Lucknow, Sitapur, and Sultanpur, while the Sai has heavily deluged parts of Lucknow and Rae Bareilly. Ghaghra and Saryu have swamped districts of Bahraich, Barabanki, Basti, Faizabad, Gorakhpur, Gonda , Kushinagar, and Shravasti.

As many as 478 cattle have been drowned in the deluged so far and  several acres of agricultural land in have been whelmed.
