The Redmi K90 Ultra is anticipated to be revealed soon as Xiaomi's upcoming sub-flagship smartphone. Recent leaks have come out about its processor and battery, indicating that the phone may launch in the near future. This device is likely to be positioned just below the Redmi K90 Max in the lineup. It will feature a built-in fan and support for 100W quick charging, and it is expected to compete with devices that have the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. According to a new Weibo post by the Chinese informant Digital Chat Station, the Redmi K90 Ultra will be equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a cooling system that includes an active fan. This phone is rumored to deliver high-end performance and may compete against other phones with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It is expected that the battery capacity of the Redmi K90 Ultra will be no less than 8,000mAh. Other specifications and features are believed to be similar to those of the Redmi K90 Max.
Earlier leaks suggested that the Redmi K90 Ultra will come with a 6.89-inch 1.5K LTPS OLED screen that has a refresh rate of 165Hz. It might also feature a customized dual-speaker setup, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, and an IP68 certification for protection against dust and water. The device received its 3C certification in China back in April, confirming its 100W fast charging capability. As noted, in the Redmi K series, the K90 Ultra is expected to be positioned just below the Redmi K90 Max, which was introduced in April with a starting price of CNY 2,999 (approximately Rs. 41,000) for the variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Redmi K90 Max operates on Android 16 with HyperOS 3 and has a 6.83-inch 1.5K M10 display with up to a 165Hz refresh rate, powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor. It also includes a dedicated D2 display chip and an active cooling fan.
For photography, the Redmi K90 Max is equipped with a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel secondary camera. For selfies and video calls, it has a front camera with 20 megapixels. The phone boasts an IP66 + IP68 + IP69 rating and features an 8,550mAh battery that supports 100W wired fast charging.
