The ongoing verbal conflict persisted between the DMK and Vijay's party, TVK, regarding the stampede that took place on September 27 in Karur, Tamil Nadu. The DMK criticized the TVK leader for not visiting the families of the victims. The DMK claimed that TVK's "dishonest silence" is a sign of "disrespect" towards the bereaved families. "It has been 20 days since that tragic event occurred when a party's reckless attempt to draw a crowd in Karur for publicity purposes led to chaos. They haven't visited the families of those innocent individuals who came to see him and tragically lost their lives, nor have they expressed their sympathies or provided any assistance to them. This dishonest silence shows a lack of respect for the families of the deceased," the DMK IT Wing stated in a message on X. They questioned Vijay, asking if he was too busy or if the "script was not ready."

"Is compassion not part of that party's values? Or will you use the same excuse again about needing protection from your fans but not getting approval?" the DMK continued. In reply to the DMK's message, TVK spokesperson Loyola Mani claimed that the party led by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin is "putting up barriers" to stop Vijay from going to Karur. "The public knows that this government is creating hurdles in many ways to stop our leader, Vijay, from talking to the affected individuals. He will surely meet them. You don’t grant permission when it's asked for at the correct place. Is it right for you, who adopts an anti-democratic stance by delaying and refusing proper permissions, to speak? You don't have the right to comment," he said. Mani also accused the DMK government of functioning on an "empty propaganda model."

"It’s distressing that the administration is being run in a misleading way without accountability. This government is not capable of ensuring adequate security for public events. People all over Tamil Nadu are saying you are to blame for this massive loss," he continued. The TVK leader added, "People are wondering if your government is at fault for the unfortunate incident in Karur. In particular, the families affected are asking questions. Is it not shameful to place all the blame on us while lacking the bravery to respond? People have not accepted the allegations you have made against us up until now. They are questioning whether you have plotted something. Are you brave enough to answer their inquiries?"

Earlier this month, Vijay connected with the families of the victims of the stampede through a video call to offer his condolences. He also assured them that he would visit them soon.
