Akkineni youngster Naga Chaitanya has been struggling to deliver a hit. His last films Thank You and Custody are disasters. He is not in a hurry and the youngster has signed a film to be directed by Chandoo Mondeti. The film is planned on a budget of Rs 80 crores and it was launched sometime ago. The film discusses about the challenges of fishermen from Srikakulam district and is inspired by real incidents. The team travelled to Srikakulam and met the fishermen over there. The extensive pre-production work came to an end recently.

The makers also conducted a hunt for the leading lady. There are strong talks that Keerthy Suresh is finalized for the role but it is Sai Pallavi who signed the film. The actress rejected several films in the recent years and this is her next Telugu film after Virata Parvam. GA2 Pictures are the producers and Tandel is the title considered.
