iQOO 15R is set to be released in India during the last week of February as the second device in the main series from the Chinese phone manufacturer. The phone will be sold online in the country in two color choices. As the launch approaches, the Vivo sub-brand has been revealing parts of the phone’s specifications and features. Recently, the company disclosed more information regarding the new phone’s display, connection features, and protection ratings against dust and water. It has been confirmed that the iQOO 15R will have a dual camera setup on the back, contained within a square module. The dedicated website for iQOO 15R has been updated to show that this new phone will come with a 1.5K AMOLED display, having a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits, and it will support HDR10+ content.
The Vivo sub-brand has also confirmed that this smartphone will come with Bluetooth 6, Wi-Fi 7, NFC, a USB Type-C connector, and support for an infrared emitter for connectivity options. Additionally, the company has mentioned that the iQOO 15R will have IP68 and IP69 ratings, indicating strong dust and water resistance. The phone will also include an ultrasonic 3D fingerprint sensor for enhanced security. We were already aware of the iQOO 15R's launch in India on February 24. It will be available for sale on Amazon in Dark Knight and Triumph Silver colors. The device will be powered by Qualcomm's 3nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 octa-core processor. The company claims that this phone scored over 35,00,000 points on the AnTuTu benchmarking test. The iQOO 15R will also include iQOO's Q2 Supercomputing chip along with a "Network Enhancement Chip. " To manage temperature, the iQOO 15R will be fitted with a 6.5K IceCore VC Cooling System, designed to lower the temperature by up to 15 degrees Celsius in just 10 minutes.
This smartphone will come with a 7,600mAh battery that supports 100W wired fast charging and bypass charging. It is claimed to give up to 3.1 hours of gaming, 7.1 hours of social media use, 16.3 hours of video watching, and 2.4 hours of 4K/60 fps video after just 10 minutes of charging. For photography, the iQOO 15R will feature a dual rear camera arrangement, led by a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-700V main camera with optical image stabilization. The new smartphone will be delivered with OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. The company guarantees four years of operating system upgrades and six years of security updates for this smartphone.
