Since the debut of the Windsor EV and the rollout of BaaS battery rental services, JSW MG Motor India has made significant strides in the automotive industry. The company has firmly established itself as a formidable contender in the electric vehicle market, bolstered by the success of the Windsor EV. Recently, JSW MG Motor India released its sales data for May 2025, and the figures are worth exploring.
In May 2025, JSW MG Motor India achieved total sales of 6,304 units. When we compare this to the sales figures for May 2024 and April 2025, it is clear that MG has experienced impressive growth. The Windsor EV stands out as the primary contributor to this sales achievement, especially after the introduction of the well-equipped Pro versions. To quantify this growth, there has been a year-over-year increase of 40% (specifically 39.78%) compared to the 4,510 units sold in May 2024. This represents an increase of 1,794 units over the previous year. Month-over-month growth also showed an increase of 8.15%, rising from 5,829 units sold in April 2025.
The Windsor EV remains a top choice among consumers, establishing itself as the leading electric vehicle in the nation. Recently, MG launched the Pro version of the Windsor EV, which boasts substantial enhancements compared to its non-Pro counterpart. Initially, the Pro version was available in the fully-equipped Essence trim, and it has since expanded to include the mid-tier Exclusive trim, now known as the Essence Pro and Exclusive Pro variants. A significant upgrade is the inclusion of a larger 52.9 kWh battery, which enhances the claimed range to 449 km on a single charge. In terms of safety, the Pro versions come equipped with Level-2 ADAS, featuring a range of autonomous capabilities that further strengthen its commendable safety record.
In other developments, MG is gearing up to unveil a new flagship SUV, the Majestor, projected to redefine standards within the large SUV market. Additionally, the company is launching MG Select premium dealerships, which will showcase offerings such as the Cyberster electric sports car and the MG 9 electric luxury MPV.
